Coming in due course.
I'm looking for a picture of a bridal show in Formans bridal dept some time in the Spring of 1963 or 1964. I was one of the employee models. My picture was in the newspaper. My copy of that newspaper picture has been lost over the years. I would appreciate any help I can get to get a copy.
ReplyDeleteBest Regards,

I was friends with Neil Parisella who was the head of the display dept he was amazing..I loved that store and that time in my life
ReplyDeleteI worked in B. Forman's bridal dept and lingerie dept in the mid 60's. I loved working there. I hate that downtown is gone.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know who can appraise a mint condition wedding gown from the 60s . It is made by Bianchi of Boston and New York and on the side of the box that it is preserved in ...it is written “B. foreman 1962”.The gown is amazing ! Did B Forman have any daughters ? Did they sell Bianchi gowns ? It looks like a one of a kind ! Can’t find anything similar?? Train must be at least 8 feet long or more and it is made of Heavy silk.

ReplyDeleteThe Rochester Democrat and Chronicle is available through newspapers.com for a fee. You can download JPG or PDF files of anything that appeared in the newspaper.

The library should have a subscription to newspapers.com so you can get access for free
ReplyDeleteMy Grandmother worked as head of the hosiery repair dept. Forv20 years 1928 to 1948 she was 35 when she passed away. Do you have any photos from that time period?
ReplyDeleteI worked at Formans the summer of 1965. First in swimwear on the 2nd floor. Main job was preventing customers from switching tops and bottoms for a better fit. Then, Daytime Dresses on the 3rd floor in the back corner. Specifically for old ladies. At $14, Shelton Strollers were our most expensive. The others were $7. Everybody needed assistance and alterations. I loved my customers. I had lunch with some of them at McCurdy's lunch counter.
ReplyDeleteMy mom and daughter went to Mcurdy's to eat every Saturday. I have a ceramic mug is it worth anything or just too it?
