I was thrilled to see that the original sales sticker was still on the bottom. The store was Korrick’s, the price $2.00. It would be interesting to know when Korrick’s introduced the Fiesta line in their store. Would love to see a photo of that department!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02464489912062429800noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3723065623705340751.post-40276819889558196462019-01-16T12:51:40.392-05:002019-01-16T12:51:40.392-05:00When I lived in Arizona in 1985 I worked at Broadw...When I lived in Arizona in 1985 I worked at Broadway Southwest in Fiesta Mall. 4000 Fiesta Mall, Mesa AZ 85202. It was a part of The Broadway of California. Owned by Weinstock's of California who also owned John Wanamaker's of Philadelphia Pennsylvania. I resigned in September of 1989 when I moved East to Pennsylvania. Does anyone know of any contact information. I never received my 401K. princessalandia@gmail.com Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06823349450015158790noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3723065623705340751.post-17894355172754494692016-06-22T17:26:50.119-04:002016-06-22T17:26:50.119-04:00looking for a friend who worked the Thomas mall st...looking for a friend who worked the Thomas mall store 19/74 to 1/75 I worked security she worked the ladies section please contact torlikoski@msn.comAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3723065623705340751.post-25315472821721346392016-01-22T08:58:28.444-05:002016-01-22T08:58:28.444-05:00Answer: Yes, essentially. I believe The Broadway Southwest was split from The Broadway division-wise, later int he store's history, but maintained the same "Style" as the California operation so that it wouldn't be terribly noticeable by customers.
-BruceBAKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00279830033473558147noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3723065623705340751.post-72324649190187207932016-01-22T04:19:43.303-05:002016-01-22T04:19:43.303-05:00Question: Was The Broadway the same as Broadway So...Question: Was The Broadway the same as Broadway Southwest (Tucson Mall circa 1980s) ?Random Tucson guynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3723065623705340751.post-54411864876698626792015-10-19T22:12:13.986-04:002015-10-19T22:12:13.986-04:00I found this page because I googled the name from ...I found this page because I googled the name from a partial package of De Long safety pins (10 cents) that my grandmother had.
I'm an Arizona native. The Broadway was re-branded Macy's and when Macy's purchased May Company the Foley's store was re-branded Macy's and the Broadway store was shuttered. It was a far larger store than the Foley store. Guess Macy's does not have much faith in the New Mexico market as Dillard's has two large anchors across the street at the competing mallex-buyerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09585263073572608743noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3723065623705340751.post-69076073287935006062014-06-24T11:32:15.471-04:002014-06-24T11:32:15.471-04:00Hello - just wanted to say thanks for the pictures...Hello - just wanted to say thanks for the pictures of Korrick's. My grandfather, Raymond J. McClanahan, was the shoe buyer for Korrick's from the mid 1920s to about 1952 when he retired. Although I did not know him, my mother talked a lot about him and visiting Korrick's while she was growing up in Phoenix in the 30s and 40s. Great to finally see some pics! Thanks again!Rivcokidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01998970887769137749noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3723065623705340751.post-68636060456748483582014-04-02T00:08:14.644-04:002014-04-02T00:08:14.644-04:00The Broadway building at Fiesta Mall in Mesa stood...The Broadway building at Fiesta Mall in Mesa stood until shortly after the Macy's/Robinsons-May acquisition, at which time Macy's moved to the much-smaller Rob-May building (around 2006-2007). There are a few pictures of the old Fiesta Mall Broadway building on Google (from 2007, when the building was razed), with its white exterior and the massive red glazed tile arch over the entrance. The store was beautiful and fairly recently renovated when the building closed. I know several people who worked in that store, and it was very high-end for that area, with designer goods and many finer brands.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14111419321294184653noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3723065623705340751.post-70511505304771867332013-01-04T16:39:55.518-05:002013-01-04T16:39:55.518-05:00Hi! I work with GateWay Community College and I'd like to use the pic. for our timeline. The building was donated to the school in the late 60s. I have a few high res images of the building as well, but without the Korrick's signage. If so, please email me at: elizabethcurran80@gmail.com.
