White & Kirk, Amarillo, Texas

In 1938, White & Kirk opened a new store in a south-western
Art-Deco style in downtown Amarillo.  The company's
advertising sketch did not hint at the elaborate detailing
of the building.

A different advertising sketch is even less
true to the building but does show the adjacent annex.

The small, beautiful store became an affiliate of Sakowitz
in 1969.

Neiman-Marcus, Dallas, Texas

Neiman-Marcus' main store at the corner of
Commerce and Ervay Streets in Dallas

The elegant details of the main building were
supplanted with modern additions in the
1950s and 1960s

A popular and renowned spot on Neiman-Marcus' sixth
floor was the Zodiac Room, famous for gourmet food
and lavish dinner buffets on nights the store was open.
